Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
The 2002 Cinq Cepages is impressive. It boasts a
deep ruby/purple hue as well as aromas of cedar, black currants,
sweet cherries, licorice, and smoky oak. Medium to full-bodied,
authoritatively flavored, elegant and impressively long with a velvety
texture, it is already delicious and evolved but should drink well
for at least another 12-14 years.

There are some terrific values in the Chateau St. Jean portfolio.
People complain, with justification, about the high prices of the
finest California wines, but this winery releases some offerings
that are actually under priced for what’s in the bottle. The
values in this portfolio seem obvious, and the winery is to be applauded
for that. |
